PayRole is pre-release software for setting up a company, recording the people you pay, and understanding the numbers involved.

It is not a payroll bureau, a tax filing agent, a money transmitter, or a licensed financial service of any kind. It does not pay anyone, does not move money, and does not file anything with any authority. Any payroll figure it shows today comes from a clearly labelled sandbox simulation with simplified assumptions, is not based on current tax rules, and must not be used to pay a person or to make a decision with money attached.

• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the people you invite to it do.
• Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has it.
• One person, one account. Do not share a sign-in between people — the audit trail is only useful if a name in it means a person.

You keep ownership of everything you put in. We hold it in order to run the service for you and for no other purpose: we do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not train machine-learning models on it. You can export it, and you can ask for your account to be closed.

• Do not use the service to break the law or to harm anyone.
• Do not attempt to reach another customer’s data, disrupt the service, or work around its access controls. If you find a way to do any of these, please tell us instead — see the security page.
• Do not present sandbox payroll figures to anyone as though they were real payroll, or rely on them yourself.

The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. That sentence appears in almost every terms page ever written, so here is the specific version: this software is pre-release, parts of it are unfinished, and you should not yet depend on it for anything that has a deadline or a penalty attached.

Nothing in PayRole is tax, legal or accounting advice. Your obligations as an employer are yours, and they are worth going through with an accountant.

No payment provider is connected, and no payment has been or can be taken. Choosing a plan records which plan you chose and nothing else. Prices shown are provisional and will change before anyone is ever charged; when charging becomes possible, it will require something you actively agree to rather than something that starts on its own.

You may stop using the service and ask for your account to be closed at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to harm someone, and will say why when we do.

These will change as the product does. Material changes will be announced in the product rather than made quietly, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it was last checked against the software.
